MENTAL HEALTH and CORONAVIRUS It is clear that protecting our mental health is going to be central to us coping with and recovering from the Coronavirus pandemic - with the psychological and social impacts likely to outlast the physical symptoms of the virus. At Vine Counselling Services we will do all we can to provide the maximum number of counselling appointments to support people in the community. One of our clients has recently emailed after receiving video counselling for a number of weeks - he continues with appointments each week but said in his email, "This service is proving to be a life-line for me as I try to rebuild my mental health ... thank you so much."
Message from Rachel Mason - Patron of Vine, former client and creator of the Unlock Your Talent Festival which recently raised funds for Vine's work.
"I wanted to share a picture I made which reflects how I feel about my mental health before I had counselling from Vine Counselling Services. It felt like I was breaking apart and that pieces of my sanity were falling away leaving me incomplete and afraid that I would never feel whole again. Without the support of Vine Counselling Services I wouldn’t have survived this time and wouldn’t be here today."
We are really excited that Rachel has agreed to be the Patron of the charity and will be working with her on various projects in the coming months.....
APPEAL FOR COUNSELLORS & RECEPTIONISTS TO JOIN THE TEAM:
If you are a qualified Counsellor and feel you could offer a few hours per week on a voluntary basis, particularly on a Thursday afternoon or evening, we would really love to hear from you. We have a waiting list of clients who need appointments and anticipate an increase in the number of enquiries we will receive in the coming weeks/months. A proportion of your supervision will be covered together with insurance and some training and travel expenses.
We are also looking for a friendly, discreet, welconing person to join our amazing reception team - the position is for alternate Thursday afternoons working at our premises in Congresbury in a Covid19 secure environment - if you feel you can help please contact us by emailing email@example.com
It can sometimes feel like we are not doing enough but our aim is to use our resources to do as much as we can, whilst planning for the future and expansion of our service. We continue to remember that "Helping one person might not change the whole world but it could change the world for one person". Every individual matters and if you are looking for help, please do not hesitate to call us. Thank you so much. Please contact Liz Linnitt by email on firstname.lastname@example.org.

Kerry says "Vine do an amazing job, providing low cost counselling to people in North Somerset who might not otherwise be able to access a counselling service. Like a lot of charities, their funding has dropped since lockdown began and so we want to help in our small way."
Thank you to Kerry, Adam and Soraya from all of the Vine team.
